Originally....this was a birthday gift for Frank Iero on October 31st of last year...bad move on submitting it so late! XD!!! But oh well....Happy Birthday Frankie!!! xoxoxo

I drew this when I was in quite a somber mood.....like all my other works. As always, I like to explain every part of the piece. The character, in this case Frankie, represents everything that is good....and the spirals looming over his head and behind his back, everything that is bad. It shows his scarf unraveling and his spine revealed to show that good can be taken over by bad feelings or intentions. The wings and heart smoke represent a sense of angelic ways and love and the melting halo also represents a shiny halo being covered by tar....a disgusting mess. The dead rose at the top of the spirals represents death (of course) trying to take over life, which is the butterfly. Basically this image shows one meaning...and that is balance.

I chose the name Blank Screens to suggest the fact that our lives are like a blank piece of paper waiting to be written on....but instead of calling it Blank Pages or something like that....I thought of life as a director writing a script for a tv show. The screen is fuzzy and blank because everything hasnt been written yet.
